Grundfos Africa recently opened a training lab in Ethiopia, which aims to improve access to water and help educate young people.
This laboratory is the result of Grundfos’ partnership with PlanBørnefonden and Plan International Ethiopia, and will contribute to skills development and job creation in the water sector, building a solid foundation for the future in that country.
Located in Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa, the laboratory will serve as a base to conduct solar pump trainings and teach young people about sustainable water solutions.
It is estimated that about two million young people enter the labour market in Ethiopia every year, but a quarter of them cannot find a job, mainly due to their lack of relevant skills.
With this laboratory, Grundfos intends to change this scenario and contribute even more to the development of the country.
