Grundfos partners to provide access to clean water for refugees in sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East

Grundfos and the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) recently announced a new partnership to provide refugees and people in disadvantaged communities with access to water, especially in sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.

Aiming to address the water crisis for those people who are forced to flee their regions, the two organisations will collaborate under the NRC’s WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) programmes, which seek to save lives, prevent disease, promote dignity and support access to better living conditions and livelihood opportunities.

This partnership came into effect in April 2023, will run for two years and focuses on four areas of collaboration: skills exchange, programme delivery and research and development, equipment supply and technical specification support for goods, and catalysing innovative and sustainable projects.

Grundfos will also support the NRC’s work with technical advice and training for local partners, such as governments, para-governments, water utilities and other water operators in the countries where they operate. Both partners will also seek opportunities where Grundfos’ innovative technology and solutions can be tested and integrated into NRC programmes.
