Grundfos Foundation and UNICEF together in a new humanitarian aid initiative

The world is currently experiencing unprecedented humanitarian needs. However, many conflicts and disasters quickly lose public attention, resulting in extensive consequences for the record number of children and families whose daily lives are destroyed for lack of support and the Grundfos Foundation wants to help reduce this situation.

In this context, the Grundfos Foundation is leading an agreement that will enable UNICEF to respond quickly and direct resources to where the need – and not necessarily the attention – is greatest. In total, the foundation will donate 5 million Danish kroner, equivalent to around 750,000 dollars, over two years, which UNICEF can request with just 24 hours’ notice, both for emergency response and to support ongoing conflicts and disasters.

Our humanitarian response must always have the greatest impact on children and families, who are the first and most affected by conflicts and disasters. We know that timely responses are essential and UNICEF, which is present in the most difficult places in the world, knows where the needs are greatest. We must not let bureaucracy and complicated approval processes stand in the way of life-saving emergency aid,” says Kim Skibsted, Director of the Grundfos Foundation.
