Representing Grundfos, Blue Zone was recently in the village of Nhamatanda, in Sofala province, where it commissioned a pump system for a large company, providing access to water for the population that had been suffering for three months. On this occasion, two Grundfos pumps type SE.100.240.2.52S.N.51 D, controlled by Grundfos LC241 panels, which are used to collect water from the river, a Hydro MPC-S 3x NK 65-160/157 pump which is used to transfer water from the decanter to the semi-underground tank, a HYDRO MPC-E 3 CR 95-3-1 used to transfer treated water to the village, approximately 14 km from the catchment, a DDA17-7 and its accessories used for dosing aluminium sulphate, and a DMX14-10 used for dosing calcium hypochlorite.
Osvaldo Chiueuane, Electrical Engineer at Blue Zone, says that it was a good experience to be in Sofala, working with a team from another company and reveals the challenges he faced: “It was a challenge to make the team understand the principle of how each system works, so that the interpretation, operationalisation and maintenance of the systems are done correctly. As the system was still in the testing phase, frequent power cuts affected the planning of activities.” – says Osvaldo, adding that “It was also necessary to make some crucial corrections to the hydraulics and electrics so that the start-up of the systems doesn’t jeopardise the normal operation of the equipment.” – he concluded.
For Osvaldo Chiueuane, this was yet another opportunity that gave him the certainty that it is always important to obey the rules described by the manufacturer, as well as proving, once again, the quality and efficiency of Grundfos products, since all the systems were operational, satisfying the objectives of his trip to Solafa.
