Grundfos teams up with IWA to make room for Young Water Professionals at UN Water Conference 2023

Grundfos and IWA (The International Water Association) have recently partnered to mobilise 12 young water professionals from all corners of the world to actively participate in the 2023 UN (United Nations) Water Conference, which will take place in New York in the United States of America.

The main aim of this initiative is to build skills among young water professionals and help them have a voice at the table as discussions on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) take place.

We are excited to partner with IWA to offer 12 young water professionals a unique opportunity and we are doing this because we need to think ahead and focus on the next generation because they will inherit the world from us. The partnership gives them the chance to meet and inspire world leaders, interact, learn and network with other professionals,” says Ulrik Gernow, Chief Operating Officer at Grundfos.

In addition to attending the UN Water Conference 2023, the 12 young water professionals will also attend a meeting at Grundfos’ headquarters in Bjerringbro, Denmark, to present their key learnings from the water conference and participate in brainstorming sessions to support the co-development of a joint Grundfos-IWA publication.

The publication will focus on how the water sector can maximise the benefits of integrating young professionals to achieve sustainable development and will provide insight into the critical role that young people have in implementing the 2030 Agenda,” adds Kala Vairavamoorthy, Executive Director of IWA.

Young people who are interested in participating in the conference should submit their applications, through the IWA website which is www.wa-network.org, from 15 October to 15 November 2022.
