Grundfos recently announced that there are about 200 million circulatory pumps of different ages in the world that need to be replaced with more energy-efficient versions. The company sees this as 200 million possibilities to save energy and empower societies.
Currently, several parts of the world are experiencing an energy crisis because there is an imbalance between supply and demand, which makes prices skyrocket. Of the 200 million circulators in need of replacement, 100 million are in Europe alone. According to Grundfos, if all these pumps were replaced by new pumps, energy consumption would be reduced by the equivalent of total electricity consumption in Portugal.
“Given the energy crisis scenario, we see huge potential to help people save energy by adopting more energy-efficient applications. However, we need political support to inspire change and drive awareness, so these 200 million possibilities become a reality. And homeowners need this support now. That’s why we’re taking a deep dive into the energy crisis and the solutions available on this platform – to inform, educate, and empower people with information so they can save energy in their homes and buildings,” says Morten Bach Jensen, EVP and CEO of Domestic Building Services.
