One of Southeast Asia’s largest water parks, Ramayana in Thailand, wanted to reduce its energy consumption and CO2 emissions. With the Grundfos Energy Earnings programme, the park was able to upgrade its pumps to modern, efficient Grundfos pumps without having to make any initial investment. The upgrade was financed by the energy savings obtained with the new pumps, which total 30 per cent over the previous models.
An audit of Ramayana’s pumps revealed a system that could be optimised in terms of performance to generate energy savings. performance to generate energy savings. The water park therefore benefited from the Grundfos
Energy Earnings programme.
Grundfos Energy Earnings allows customers to finance an upgrade of the pump system without any initial investment. The remodelling is financed by a portion of the energy earnings over the course of their five-year agreement with the new, more efficient system. In practical terms, the energy gains from the new pumps at the Ramayana paid for the new pump system.
In this way, Ramayana and Grundfos replaced around 20 inefficient pumps with Grundfos LS horizontal split chamber pumps. This refurbishment of the pumps has enabled the Ramayana Water Park to save 30 per cent in energy costs, or around 1.5 million THB per year (40,000 EUR/year). It has also reduced CO2 emissions by 700 tonnes over the five-year period.
